Our Network
Our team has an extensive and well maintained network in many professions and service providers across Western Australia and the Nation. We are pleased to place that network at your disposal. We pride ourselves on the ability to structure and manage project teams crafted to meet the needs of our clients. All our associates are required to subscribe to our Code of Professional Conduct.
Professional facilitation of meetings and forums involves designing and managing processes which strike a balance between participation and outcomes. All too often facilitators see themselves as' song and dance shows' rather than boundary setters for meeting processes designed to deliver effective outcomes. Effective facilitation becomes a powerful weapon in both identifying and understanding conflicts and seeking their resolution.
With over 30 years working in some extreme settings where the demand for participation could have overtaken the need for constructive outcomes, we have managed hundreds of conversations, meetings, mass events and conferences.
Combining facilitation skills with our detailed content knowledge in areas such as public and social policy, occupational health and safety, and human resource management secures the relevance and focus of the outcomes we offer.
Disagreements and conflicts are not to be feared, they are the source of many creative solutions. Having a skilled person with experience, a cool head and the ability to adapt to your needs helps get the best results.
To avoid unnecessary conflict, guidance and assistance with the initial negotiation process may be of assistance. Metanoia Consulting’s extensive experience is available to assist you with the negotiation of the mutually beneficial agreements which are most likely to avoid future disputes. Most negotiations are based on existing relationships or intended to create new ones. We will encourage a negotiating approach which values those relationships and uses them as the foundation for achieving outcomes.
Our extensive experience is available to assist you with the negotiation of the mutually beneficial agreements which are most likely to avoid disagreements in the future. If a conflict already exists, is mediation an option for you to consider? Mediation is a structured approach to assisting people in conflict to negotiate an outcome acceptable to them. In many ways it can be viewed as "guided negotiation".
It is a voluntary process which is based on the recognition of the parties of the importance of retaining their relationship or the disadvantages of other options available to them.
When a conflict occurs it is sometimes necessary to decide who is most accurate in their claims. This calls for investigation, analysis and reporting skills with which Metanoia comes well stocked. And remember that our facilitation skills are central to resolving conflicts and disagreements of all kinds.

From Boardroom to backyard governance matters. Governance involves the defining of roles and responsibilities and the setting of boundaries necessary to get the job done well and to avoid unproductive disputes. Good governance recognises that some disagreements are necessary and useful and allows creative solutions to emerge.
Bad governance results in confusion, loss of direction and focus, and the loss of the goodwill so necessary to harmony.
Crafting governance arrangements suited to your purposes is our business. We draw from the experience of having served on numerous Boards and Commissions, in both the public and private sectors, with distinction. Our Managing Director is a graduate and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

There’s an old saying: "you make your own luck". But are you willing to trust to luck over your livelihood, ambitions and desires? Metanoia Consulting believes that luck comes to those who are well positioned to recognise it and to act upon it. That takes "strategy".
Not some sort of kill or be killed ruthlessness, just the ability to know what you are about; the imagination to know what success looks like; and a focus on the key tasks needed to get you there. In any walk of life.
We have assisted many clients to review their strategies and to move forward with greater confidence, but never with arrogance. Our Managing Director's enviable reputation is built on some of the highest profile and most strategic industrial campaigns in Western Australia’s history. Our deeply held values underpin our professionalism.
This experience and aptitude and direct experience of strategic planning in the community benefit, corporate and public sectors is now at your disposal.

Policy is the regulation of relationships for the purpose of affirming certain values and interests through means designed to achieve these ends. Why do people think policy is “warm and fuzzy”? Perhaps because most often they don't witness good policy making!
The first thing you will be asked by Metanoia Consulting is to define your objective. If you don’t have a strategy we will help you develop one. But we will discourage you from thinking policy without strategy will ever be effective. Our Managing Director is renowned for driving practical strategic outcomes through the analysis and development of good policy, with 25 years experience on major policy bodies at the state and national level.
For those efforts he was the only union leader awarded a Centenary Medal "for improving working conditions and occupational health and safety". He continues to assist clients by drawing on extensive knowledge and wisdom.
